Eden Naftali (Wiz): Storytelling & Gamification for Cloud Security
Host: Eyal David · Guest: Eden Naftali · About the host
In this episode
- Storytelling is a real product tool: at Wiz they don't sell fear but empowerment — giving the user context and tools to succeed at security, rather than scaring them.
- Gamification creates clarity: achievements like reaching Zero Criticals, badges, and swag show the team exactly where it's headed and what success looks like.
- The Crying Out Cloud podcast keeps Eden connected to the field — she hears what's really happening with customers instead of staying stuck in product theory.
- To enlist developers and stakeholders who have no direct incentive to help you, you need to simplify their work and give them context and small wins.
- A good PM has to combine deep technical understanding, asking questions, and close communication with all stakeholders — customers, developers, and the field.
- Grow fast, ship a product, gather feedback, and improve — better than holding onto things for too long.

Episode Description
Eden Naftali is a product manager at Wiz and co-host of the Crying Out Cloud podcast. In the conversation she explains how storytelling and gamification turn the world of cloud security — perceived as threatening and complicated — into an empowering, accessible experience: from the analogy of "a mom with OCD organizing the garage" to achievements like Zero Criticals with badges and swag. She tells the story of her path from a political campaign and a creative background into product management at a cyber company, and what she learned as a product manager and, for the first time, as a manager.

Questions & answers
What does Wiz do?
Wiz is a cloud security platform that helps organizations map and manage their environment end to end — identify what's in the environment, prioritize the critical issues, fix them, and then monitor and alert on real threats versus false alarms.
What is Crying Out Cloud?
A cloud security podcast that Eden co-hosts, born out of a desire to make the cyber world accessible — especially to women — through interesting, practical stories from the industry.
How does gamification work at Wiz?
Across Wiz's product pillars you can earn achievements. For example, an organization that reaches Zero Criticals — meaning it has prioritized and eliminated all the critical issues in its environment — gets a badge, swag, and recognition, which makes progress tangible and clear for the team.
Where did Eden's storytelling come from?
From a creative and political background: at 16 she worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign, and later built a docu-series for the head of Warner Brothers. She sees storytelling as a natural way to sell an idea — whether a political candidate or an approach to cybersecurity.
